- In 2005, Chuck passed a law HB 560 to provide additional rights to homeowners fighting to keep their taxes low.
- In 2006, chuck passed a law HB1341 to allow more homestead exemptions in Alpharetta to reduce the property tax burden on citizens. These exemptions were in addition to the Senior
- Homestead Exemption, bringing North Fulton County seniors even more financial savings.
- In 2006, Chuck passed a law HB 1403 requiring Fulton County to return more sales tax dollars to North Fulton because he understands that North Fulton taxpayers have paid enough Fulton County and deserve to have their taxes spent locally.
Transportation
- Chuck is working hard for realistic and immediate transportation solutions that meet our community's needs.
- Chuck has lived in North Fulton County all of his life. He understands the transportation problems that need to be addressed, and he recognizes that solutions require local input and support.
- During the 2007 legislative session, Chuck introduced a law (HB434) to create a permanent funding solution to reduce congestion and improve our roads while allowing local taxpayers to retain control over planning and construction. Georgia's Children
- Chuck is protecting Georgia's children.
- Chuck, as a father of two, knows there is no more important job than protecting our children. Chuck will continue to work to provide the safest possible community for our children.
- During the 2004 legislative session, Chuck passed a law (HB 1358) to protect the private information of Georgia's children, keeping addresses, ages, and other data from being disclosed. Prior to Chuck's legislation, Georgia's children were at risk when they participated in public recreational programs because the information was treated as public.
Education
- Chuck has and continues to support increasing education opportunities for Georgia's students.
- Chuck, the father of two graduates from Milton High School, has long supported our area schools and knows the importance of educating Georgia's young people.
- Chuck supported the Georgia Special Needs Scholarship Act to help special needs children receive the education help they need, equaling more educational opportunities.
- Chuck worked with fellow North Fulton Representative Jan Jones on HB 881 creating an alternate method for forming charter schools, and allowing for even better educational opportunities for Georgia's students.
- Chuck supported HB 1133 which institutes new tax credits for private citizens and corporations who donate money to nonprofit scholarship organizations that fund scholarships for children to attend private schools, equaling more educational opportunities.
- Chuck supported Governor Perdue's "IE2 Commission" recommended legislation, HB 1209, that allows public school systems to bypass state regulations if they meet certain performance goals, allowing more local control and better educational opportunities.
